There's a version of luxury travel marketing that hasn't really changed in thirty years. The hero shot of a infinity pool. The white linen. The gloved concierge. The copy about "unrivalled elegance" and "exceptional service." It works on a certain kind of traveller, and that traveller isn't getting any younger.
Gen Z, now the fastest-growing demographic in travel spending, has a fundamentally different relationship with what luxury means. Not a slightly updated version of the old definition. A different one entirely. And the gap between what most luxury hotel marketing is saying and what this audience actually responds to is widening in a way that the industry can't afford to keep ignoring.
