Every year, without fail, someone publishes a hot take declaring Instagram over. The engagement is down. Gen Z has moved on. TikTok killed it. And yet, every year, three billion people log into Instagram anyway.
Three billion monthly active users. Two point two billion daily. Nearly half of Gen Z in the US actively using it, spending an average of 53 minutes on the platform every day. These are not the numbers of a dead platform. They are the numbers of a platform that a lot of brands have simply stopped using well.
That's the conversation worth having. Not "is Instagram dead?" but "why does your brand's Instagram feel like it is?"
